“Fabulous House, Location and Epic Cycling....” This home greatly exceeded our expectations, it is an absolutely perfect home in an idyllic setting, with fantastic support by the owner, Natalia.
La Pedra Remenca is a wonderful place to relax, yet offers easy proximity to fabulous cycling from the house itself, as well as offering an immense range of epic cycling and other activities a short drive away, without having to navigate in and out of Girona City every day – highly recommended for cyclists that want great riding, with peace and quiet when not on the bikes.
We enjoyed wonderful quiet for sleeping with the windows open, breakfast and/or brunch outside, and wonderful post-ride afternoons by the salt water pool, listening to the gentle sounds of nature.
Convenient small market right in the small village has a surprisingly wide range of groceries, supplemented by one trip to a larger store in Girona, an easy drive.
The house has everything one needs, beautifully built and furnished, great linens and towels, well equipped kitchen, great showers, and a spacious lower level for bicycles, an area for us to place our stretching mats, laundry facilities, etc.…
Over 14 days, we cycled most days directly from the house, and experienced an excellent range of riding, we also did 3 or 4 remote starts using the car to do some riding along the Mediterranean Coast as well as up North in the Pyrenees, riding over the border to France easily accomplished if starting from just North of Olot, a short drive away.
It was extremely difficult to pack up out bicycles and leave La Pedra Remenca, we will be back….

“Fabulous property in idyllic location”. We spent the most gloriously relaxing week at La Pedra Remenca. It truly is a stunning property. Natalia was the most charming host, her attention to detail was second to none. The nicest sinks we have ever found in a rental property! The swimming pool was absolutely perfect for our two teenage girls. We enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal by Natalia and her recommendations for visits and restaurants were brilliant. Highly recommended for a truly relaxing holiday in a superbly furnished property and a very beautiful and utterly unspoilt part of Spain. Thank you Natalia.....

“A haven of tranquility”. Some holidays are enjoyable, but by the time they are over we are ready to return home. That was not the case after our stay at La Pedra Remença. We had such a warm welcome and a relaxing sty that it was a real wrench to leave.

The property is secluded and peaceful, set in the woods on the hillside of the Llemena valley. Although there is plenty to do and see in the local area, on warm days we preferred to simply laze by the pool whilst butterflies (of which there are many) danced through the garden. Natalia, the owner, was a wonderful host who keeps the property well equipped. She kindly recommended and booked a meal for us at a wonderful local restaurant and had plenty of suggestions for walking and sightseeing. If you enjoy bird watching, then you don’t need to move from the garden to see many different species. In fact, many would obligingly flit past the terrace where we sat for our meals, with a spectacular view of the valley.

As I mentioned, we were sorry to leave, but we hope to be back soon. Many thanks to Natalia for a peaceful and rejuvenating break.

“The perfect hideaway in the green hills of Garrotxa”. This modest looking house may lack the wow factor in photos, but it made a superb holiday home. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with fantastic support from owner Natalia when (and only when) you need it. Glorious views across the empty valley, but the trump card is the complete seclusion of not just the attractive pool area but the whole extensive garden. The only downside is the lack of facilities within reasonable waking distance, but once you're stocked up, you just won't want to leave.

“Magical Experience”. If you are looking for a unique rural experience with a personal touch, you are in for a treat. The setting in nature is magical. Very tranquil and isolated but close to many outstanding attractions. We enjoyed hiking as well as just being peaceful and quiet. The staff are super knowledgable and were attentive to our needs. We were so pleased with our stay and look forward to returning.

“Phantastic - no wish unanswered”. La Pedra Remenca is by far the best finca that we ever stayed at. Everything that you could possibly ask for during a holiday is a given - a beautiful, very stylish cottage that has been renovated with a wonderful attention to detail, a well equipped kitchen, BBQ, entertainment, a great pool, a vegetable garden - the list could go on forever. Combine this with Natalia's (the owner) passion for her home country, her relentless desire to make everything just perfect for her guests, her great advice around restaurants, day trips and local shopping and you will end up with a holiday made in heaven. Within just a week we have become true fans of La Garrotxa and La Pedra Remenca.

“Absolutely the best!”. This is an outstanding holiday property in which the owner has invested much love and thought - and it really shows. Fantastic welcome on arrival, care and attention to the smallest detail, peace and tranquillity all week - amazing. You will not regret spending time at La Pedra Remenca.

“Fantastic views, very relaxing and private”. La Pedra Remenca is a wonderful holiday home, with beautiful gardens and pool, in a stunning woodland location. The house is spacious, very comfortable and well equipped, with some beautiful antique furniture. There are fantastic views into the woods and across the valley from the windows at the rear of the house, and particularly from the large, shaded balcony - the perfect place to eat or just sit and relax. When we arrived, the house was spotlessly clean and there were cut flowers from the garden in every room. The garden and private woods are delightful - full of flowers, butterflies and with a small herb and vegetable patch for use by guests. The salt-water pool is very clean and perfect for a family. The overall feel of the property is very relaxing and private, with plenty of space to wander and enjoy the stunning views all around.

Natalia, the property owner, is an exceptional host. She has a genuine passion for the local area and her help and advice really helped us to get the most from our holiday. As well as providing an excellent folder of local information, she was more than happy to provide more personalised advice on hikes, activities, restaurants and shops to suit our needs. She made requests and bookings on our behalf and cooked us a delicious meal during our stay. Alongside providing an attentive service, Natalia was very respectful of our privacy, inviting us to contact her by e-mail and always asking in advance if she could visit the property to clean the pool, bring fresh towels etc.

We were made to feel very welcome in the area, particularly in local shops and restaurants. Caix Can in St Marti de Llemena and the stunning Mas el Siubes, near Les Planes d'Hostoles opened specially in the evenings to accommodate us (most local people eat their main meal at lunchtime).

Our holiday at La Pedra Remenca was one of our best and we very much hope to return. We would highly recommend the property.

"A wonderful honeymoon" La Pedra Remensa is a beautifully decorated and located hideaway for those who appreciate natural beauty and privacy. It is easily reached but very private and surrounded by wonderful scenery, including a wildflower meadow and amazing view over the valley. The house has been tastefully renovated in a traditional style but with all modern conveniences. The balcony has a stunning view across the tree-tops and is perfect for breakfast as the sun comes up and in the evening for a romantic dinner. Natalia (the owner) could not have been more helpful and welcoming - even down to the heart shaped chocolate cake and bottle of cava we received on arrival. We had a wonderful week here on our honeymoon and hope to return again. We would highly recommend it.

"Living in a beautiful home in an idyllic garden in gorgeous countryside"
We had a wonderful holiday made special by Natalia and her kindness and dedication to ensuring her guest's comfort. The house was extremely well furnished with high quality bed linen, towels and robes. The kitchen was stocked with oil, vinegar and spices etc and best of all your own vegetable garden with lettuce, strawberries, herbs etc ripe for picking. We could have just lazed in the garden all day listening to the birdsong and enjoying the lovely views over the hills without another house to be seen. This is a place for people who enjoy nature and peaceful surroundings, it is good walking country in scenic countryside and so nice to return home to. The house is down a long private driveway and the path to the front door flanked by a wildflower meadow, roses and butterflies - a small piece of paradise. If you want a medieval city, shops, beaches, fishing villages, all are within a comfortable drive.

Picture Perfect
After seeing the site for this rental, we actually changed our itinerary so that we could enjoy this property! This is the best accommodation we have enjoyed--the little touches meant everything: fresh flowers in every room, robes, comfortable beds and bedding, fresh lettuce in the garden, bird seed to attract the wildlife, a spectacular view to enjoy your coffee by, an exceptionally gracious host. We were so appreciative of the amazing book Natalia has put together of places to visit. We again changed our initial plans, as the destinations were so interesting and appealing. Natalia, next we think you should write a travel book of the area! If you enjoy the outdoors and hiking, there are many lovely places within an easy drive. The restaurants are very accommodating to those without Spanish expertise, including one place that showed us a spoon of every dish so that we could point to order what appealed when we could not verbally communicate! We highly recommend this rental for a true get-away-from-it-all location.

"Peace on earth" Natalia met us on our arrival and walked us through the property, it was immaculate, clean and homely. The location was perfect for a stress free holiday, fresh & open with incredible valley views.
We found the people of the area very warm and friendly and look forward to returning next year.

“Idyllic accommodation with our host being focused on pro”. My wife and I spent three months travelling through Portugal. Spain, France and Italy. Without question we rate our time at La Pedra Remença as the hightlight of our trip. Natalia’s attention to detail in the cottage and her extensive local knowledge will see us returning as repeat clients. We enjoyed the bird feeders that brought in good numbers of interesting species. The cottage location offers great access to beaches, skiing, wine country and some excellent restaurants. Throughout this area of Spain we found the local people charming and helpful, despite our abysmal language skills. Highly recommended!

"A fantastic house in a stunning location". We, a family of 2 adults, an 11 and a 13 year old spent our two week summer holiday at this beautiful house this year. We have stayed in some lovely houses, but never in one so clean, well presented, well equipped and with such a beautiful view. Natalia was everything you would want from a host - helpful, enthusiastic about the area, with perfect English, a fantastic cook, but who never invaded our privacy! The pool was perfect - saline rather than chlorine - and kept perfectly clean by Natalia during the stay. We even had a midnight swim with the lights from the pool and the moonlight! The garden was secluded and private - we ate every meal on the terrace listening out for the huge variety of wildlife - hummingbird moths, bee eaters (beautiful, tropical birds) - and picked tomatoes from the garden every day. A fantastic place which we would highly recommend to anyone - old, young, families or couples.

“Wonderful peaceful villa in a superb forest location”. The villa is wonderfully equipped and maintained - fully up to the description on the web site. The gardens and pool are very private but with a wonderful view over the valley. The area is very peaceful and at night you can look across the valley and see no other lights. The owner provides a very good handbook with her recommendations for restaurants, shops and local walks etc. We ate at many of the restaurant recommendations and the food was always wonderful and very good value for money - e.g. good 3 course lunch with wine for 11 euro. The villa is up a narrow local road the last 200metres of which is unpaved but well maintained. We rented a small car for our visit and found it ideal for the narrow local roads. The owner is always available if needed but keeps out of your way unless asked, although she routinely leaves local produce she has collected from the local forest at the gate - we enjoyed lots of fresh chestnuts during our stay. Bed linen, towels, bathrobes etc are all top quality and clearly regularly replaced. The pool is kept scrupulously clean and the fact it is maintained without the use of chlorine means it does not irritate eyes or damage swimwear. The basement utility area has a good washing machine and drying rack so you can travel light and wash items as necessary with minimum effort. Although we did not take advantage of her offer, the owner and her husband will take you on guided wildlife tours through the numerous paths that crisscross the valley. Also, if required, she will cook you local specialities to eat in the villa. Overall a superb villa in a great location. We have already booked for 2 weeks next summer.

"Best villa experience ever". For the past 14 years we have rented villas yearly in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany. In all these years of renting we have never had a better experience. From the moment we arrived we were treated like friends. The facilities were excellent. A fully equipment open kitchen with a great view over the valley. Two large bedrooms and very comfortable beds and lots of storage space and a modern style bathroom. The open living/dining area allowed for interaction but best of all was the magnificent terrace where we sat with our wine and enjoyed the awesome view over the valley. Not to mention the birds that would stop by regularly to take advantage of the feeders in the nearby trees. Overall, an exceptional and unique villa experience. We definitely hope to return one day.

“Paradise”. We had an amazing stay. Natalia was there to welcome us and could not have been more helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful, has amazing views and very well equipped to a high standard. Lots of little touches add to the experience, like night lights, lovely bedding, throws, fairy lights outside. The pool was lovely and being sea salt no chemical smells! Restaurants are a 5 min drive away, but well worth the visit - remember they only open evenings at the weekend. However do like we did and turn native - eating at lunch. worth shopping at the bigger supermarkets for meat etc, but 'Annas' local, handy for other items. Natalia is an excellent host -Next trip we will take our walking boots - already planning our next visit, cant wait!

"Wonderful cottage in charming surrounding".Tastefully decorated house with great comfort in quiet and beautiful area. You feel immediately at home thanks to the friendly owner who takes good care of you and still gives you a lot of privacy. You can live like a local here, cooking with fresh vegetables from the garden or eating in one of the many good restaurants in the surrounding. Owner has original ideas for hikes and places to visit and can also cook for you if you like. You can mix the beautiful area of the Garrotxa with visits to lovely little beachvillages or great spanish towns (Girona, Barcelona).

"Amazing villa, amazing host!" We stayed at this villa in July for a week and it was wonderful. The owner was wonderful and has put together an amazing notebook about the area. The villa was absolutely beautiful. The view was marvelous, the pool lovely and the beds comfy! We loved the deck and ate every meal out there. It was a great stay!

"Beauty and Peace". If you want beautiful scenery, wildlife, privacy but with all the comforts of modern living, this is the one for you! Natalia is the perfect hostess, helpful, friendly and very respectful of your privacy. She is also a great cook - do get her to cook you one of her meals. The villa is set in its own beautiful grounds, great for nature lovers - i spent half my time wondering around the garden with camera in hand.
The villa is lovely, modern but blending beautifully with the natural environment and with all mod cons. It is a good base for sight seeing, but to be honest, my wife and I spent most of our time relaxing at the villa, sat on the veranda and the odd dip in the pool...what else could you want..We will be there again next year for as long as we possibly can.

"Incredibly relaxing." We loved the beautiful cottage, gorgeous views, privacy, decor...everything! The kitchen was well stocked, the linens top notch, bathroom great and outside deck inviting. There is a small but comprehensive grocery store a couple of kilometers away as well as some restaurants. The information at hand in the cottage about the surrounding area was very helpful. We loved the cycling with many enticing roads to ride as well as the Via Verde. The pool was a refreshing treat after a ride. Natalia's attention to every detail, helpfulness, and warm personality made the whole experience even better.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at La Pedra Remenca. We were in Spain for a month and our stay there was the best in all of our travels. The owner has created an oasis in the most beautiful part of Costa Brava in a valley East of Girona. The countryside is a gorgeous green with enchanting stone farmhouses at every turn. The house is such a treasure! The beds, linens, towels, shower, furniture, and views from every window are the most enchanting and comfortable that we have ever seen. She was the most amazing and warm host who delights in sharing the beauty of the area and all of the places to hike, eat, and explore. La Pedra and Natalia are a treasure you will never forget . Treat yourself to a long stay there. It is truly extraordinary and will surely be the best part of your trip, as it was ours...

Our recent vacation at La Pedra was simply fantastic and in many ways exceeded our expectations. The property and sweeping views of this Catalonian Valley were as breathtaking as described. The cottage has been beautifully restored with a traveler’s every need taken into account, from the fully stocked kitchen, to the luxurious bed linens and towels, to the maps, books and personal recommendations of nearby activities provided by Natalia, the owner of La Pedra. She has even planted a robust vegetable garden on the property that she maintains for sole use by her guests! When we made our travel plans we had hoped to find something in the country, as a home base for hiking that would be easily accessible to and from Barcelona and surrounding communities. We found this in La Pedra, but also much more – a secluded, romantic hideaway that is charming and comfortable right down to the cozy his and her bathrobes provided for our use. We also found Natalia to be the perfect host that went out of her way to ensure our enjoyment whether we wanted privacy or we asked for her recommendations on hikes, activities and places for lunch and dinner. It’s obvious that she genuinely cares about helping guests create wonderful and personalized holiday experiences. And when we left La Pedra we asked for Natalia’s suggestions for our extended stay in Barcelona. She suggested sights, restaurants and experiences that the average traveler would have missed and that ended up being some of our most ‘perfect moments’!We would definitely recommend La Pedra to friends and relatives and plan to return ourselves in the not too distant future.

I would highly recommend La Pedra Remenca for families or couples looking to explore this picturesque, off the beaten track, corner of rural Catalonia. The villa has been beautifully appointed by Natalia, with stoney, olive colours and restored antique furniture. Bed linen is crisp white Egyptian cotton and vases of fresh flowers and scented candles welcome you when you arrive. Even during a hot August fortnight, La Pedra's cool stone walls and mosquito-netted bedroom windows mean that you can escape the heat and sleep serenaded by the sound of crickets and the sweet smell of jasmine. The views from La Pedra's balcony over the sweeping Catalonia hillsides are breathtaking. Eating al fresco under the stars is a holiday highlight, as is swimming at night in the underwater lit swimming pool. The owners are perfect hosts, offering guided walks of the surrounding countryside with their two lovely dogs and delicious home cooked regional dishes delivered to your door for a special evening meal. The villa and its pool are hard to leave behind. It is definitely worth exploring this part of Catalonia, with highlights including the historic city of Girona, Banyoles and Cadaques. We will definitely be returning....

We spent a heavenly week relaxing in the secluded garden with glorious valley views. The pool is more than welcome in the heat of the day and, of course, you have it all to yourself. We enjoyed the locally grown food and wine purchased at the small village supermarket, staffed by extremely welcoming locals. The charming towns of Olot and Besalu, and the ancient city of Girona are well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Beaufitul, well maintained house with very nice interior, garden and surroundings. Nice views on the hills and valley and very quiet area. Exactly as it is described and indicated by the pictures on the website. This was our first visit and holiday in this part of Spain, but it was great. Girona is a beautiful and cozy city to visit. Other places we visited and were well worth the visit are a.o. Besalu, Cadaques, Camprodon. Nice area for cycling, off road as well as on the road. We unfortunately could only stay for one week, which passed far too quickly. Definitely a place to recommend and to return to.

We arrived to the warmest of welcomes from our charming host Natalia. Nothing was too much trouble; no effort was spared by her. She had even researched delightful trips for us based on our own interests, which we gladly took. The cottage is very comfortable and attractive, a good place to come home to. We even sampled Natalia's cooking: such generous, tasty helpings! Our week at La Pedra Remenca passed quickly as all happy holidays do.We will certainly return.

What an amazing place! This house is the perfect place to spend time to discover the beautiful natural park of La Garrotxa. We stayed there and were absolutely delighted!!! The house is tasteful decorated and nothing is missing! The garden invites to relaxation. The veggie patch was full of home grown tomatoes and strawberries. And the owners were amazingly helpful, sharing with us 1000s of tips which enabled us to make the most of our stay!

The most amazing vacation we have ever had! No matter what sort of experience you are looking for, it is here, the views, the history, the arts, the beaches, the hikes, the food and wine, the people. The tranquility and views of your home base are peaceful and restorative. The possibilities to design your time spent are limitless. Natalia will help you with local experiences that will blow your mind or just hide away in the thoughtfully, beautifully designed villa. Visiting this part of the world has changed us forever. The influence of Spain and her people has changed what we want out of life. We have been back now several times and see ourselves living there at some point!!. If you really want to eat at the best places that the locals enjoy, La Pedra's personal touch will lead you all the way. Words will not adequately describe the scenery, the Roman towns, the hikes leading into liquid blue waterfalls, the architecture, the serene abandoned castles and monasteries. Our trips have been specially created to become these amazing experiences by Natalia. You will never have a more personal touch. She and her husband are great people who will provide you with as much support as you like or conversely, as much privacy as you desire. They quickly became two people we adore and would recommend their La Pedra Remensa to first timers or the most discerning travellers. Enjoy and plan to be changed forever!!!!!!
